Week 6 - Art

Monday

Learning Objective: To make detailed, analytical observational drawings.

I Can:

- Make a detailed drawing of an object

- Focus on a single element in a design (Shape, texture)

In this lesson we are going to be focusing on these four elements of art.

Task 1: Choose an object at home, (maybe a piece of fruit or a vegetable) and write about the 4 elements of art.

In this lesson we are going to look closer at different fruits and vegetables and how we can explore the different elements of art.

 

TASK 1: Choose an object at home, try to choose a fruit or vegetable.

Using a pencil, draw the object with as much detail as possible,

  • Form
  • Colour

Wednesday

LO: To enlarge own drawings and use selected media to develop work.

I Can:

- Scale up a detailed drawing

- Use a wide range of media selecting those most suitable to portray the required element in each image.

 

In this lesson we are going to continue to look at the different elements of art.

Looking at your drawing from yesterday, your task is to use SCALING to enlarge your image,

Here is some information about scaling.

Task 1:

Create an enlarged image of your object from yesterday. 

This can be the whole object or a part of it. 

 

You can use a pencil to draw it like the example in yesterdays lesson or if you have any coloured pencils, pens or even paint, you could also use these.

Friday

LO: To understand the visual element of tone

I can:

- use an existing portrait to identify tone.

- create different tones using different colours.

 

In this lesson you are going to learn more about the element of tone

Here is some more information about TONE

Task:

This lesson we would like you to draw a portrait using the element of tone.

Think about where the dark, medium and lighter tones are on the image.

 

TOP TIP: You could use some tracing paper or baking paper to trace over the outline of the picture or you could draw it yourself.

 

You can create tones using just your pencil or if you have coloured pencils you could use different tones of one colour.

Here are some examples:

Darker and lighter tones can be created using your pencil by pressing on harder or softer.
