Children's Mental Health Week is taking place on 7-13 February 2022. This year's theme is 'Growing Together'. In reception we have decided to discuss the importance of this week during our PSHE lessons.

Look through the PowerPoint below:

Watch 'The Hungry Caterpillar' story on the link below:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Animated Film

Discuss how the caterpillar grows over time and how this process doesn’t happen straight away. What can the hungry caterpillar do at the end of the story that he couldn’t do at the beginning?

Ask your child the following questions:

  • Have you grown?
  • What can you do now that you couldn't do before?
  • Did you need help to grow and achieve?
  • Was it always easy?
  • Did it sometimes make you feel sad or angry when you couldn't do something?

Draw the Write Way

This week in English our book of the week is 'Astro Girl' by Kes Wilson-Max.

Can you draw an astronaut and rocket? Think carefully about the shapes you will need to use and the detail you will need to add.
