LO: To identify and describe the functions of different parts of flowering plants: roots, stem/trunk, leaves and flowers

- I can label the different parts of a flowering plant
- I can describe its functions
- I can answer questions

Today, in Science, you will be focusing on the different parts of a flowering plant. At the end of the lesson, you should be able to identify, label and describe the functions of the different parts of a flowering plant.

Task 1: Go through the PowerPoint. Then, using the information from the PowerPoint, you need to label the drawing of the flowering plant and describe what each part of the plant does.

Task 2: Go through the task 2 PowerPoint. You will be participating in the Flower Power Game! You can play with a family member! You need to put the pieces of the flower together and the first one to do so shouts out ‘Flower Power!’ Enjoy!

Task 3: Go through the Task 3 PowerPoint. You will need to follow the instructions on the PowerPoint in order to complete Task 3. Your first job will be to choose a specimen plant to look at closely, this can be a weed from your garden. Your task will be to study every detail with care: the size, shape and colour of the leaves; the way the stem divides and the texture and colour of the roots. You will need some paper because you are going to make a very detailed drawing of this specimen plant.

Task 4: Go through the ‘3 Strikes Quiz.’
