Welcome back! I hope you've all had a restful break. This week, in Science, you will be investigating the way in which water is transported within plants by observing the transport of food colouring through a flower stem.
You will need:
- Bright white flowers such as Carnations, Chrysanthemums or Gerberas with stems of equal length.
- Food colouring ( darker colours work well).
-Tablespoons.
-Beakers of the same size filled with 100ml water.
- Access to places with different temperatures (e.g. over a heater, normal room temperature, a fridge).
-Thermometers.
You will be investigating the rate of water transportation in different temperatures. Look through the PowerPoint below, this will help you set up your experiment.
