Week 1 12.04.21-16.04.21

Hope you have all had a lovely Easter and making most of the lovely weather as best as you can under the circumstances.

This half term our Key Text for sharing with the children is 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' by Eric Carle. This story provides many opportunities for learning. Below are a few activities you could do at home with your child based on the story.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar - Animated Film

In the internationally acclaimed The Very Hungry Caterpillar, a tiny caterpillar eats and eats...and eats his way through the week. Taken from The Very Hungry ...

Can you remember what the Hungry caterpillar ate? With your adult can you write a list of the food together, trying hard to write the initial sounds and other sounds you hear?

After reading the text a few times with your child, can you see if they are able to retell aspects of the story, describe some key events, settings and characters of the story.

If you are able to ask your child about the story in this way please could you upload a video of the discussion to Evidence Me, that would be great!

Life Cycle of a Butterfly

Watch the film below about the life cycle of a butterfly and discuss together with your child about the life cycle of a butterfly and how they change. Can you use the following template to make a life cycle or make one yourself. The more creative the better!
