One of the stories we will be reading this half term is 'Jaspers Beanstalk' by Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. This book is all about a cat called Jasper who plants a bean, he has the highest hopes. But after a week of caring for the bean nothing happens, Jasper fears it will never grow.
So when it finally does sprout, and grows into a enormous beanstalk, Jasper is so excited. He's also sure that there's a giant at the top!
Questions you could ask your child to check their understanding of the story.

What does Jasper use to plant his bean?
What seed did he plant?
On what day did he find the bean?
When did Jasper noticed the beanstalk had grown?
Why did Jasper dig up the bean?

Can you draw a picture of some things that you would like to find at the top of a beanstalk?

Can you practice the days of the week? How many days are in one week?
