Week 1 -22.02.21-26.02.21

This weeks Phonics is all about Alliteration (words that begin with the same sound). Alliteration is a lot of fun to play around with. Your child's name can be a good place to start, e.g. 'Mia makes music', 'Jolly Joel jumped', 'Nelly's nosy nose. Encourage all members of your family to have a go, e.g. 'Mummy makes magical marshmallows', 'Daddy is doing the dishes'.

Make up little nonsense stories together using lots of alliteration or when out shopping think about items you are buying and say 'A tall tin of tomatoes', 'A yummy yogurt', 'An amazing apple'. Encourage your child to do the same.
Collect items from the park, the garden and around the house that start with the same sound.
