Literacy:

This week in Nursery we are looking at 'Poetry' Poetry creates literacy, language, numeracy and music skills. It can help to support a love of language, creates creativity and imagination. 

This weeks poem is called 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star' 

Sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to your child, let them just listen to you at first. Afterwards say it's our turn and sing the rhyme together. Then see if they can sing it by themselves. No worries if they can't you can encourage your child to echo your words by singing one line first and then they repeat the line back to you. You can even watch the video below. 

Phonics:

This week in phonics we will be playing the game called 'Silly Soup' We play this game because it helps develop awareness of rhymes. Click on the video below and see if your child can begin to recognise words that rhyme.
