Monday

Wednesday 23rd June
To spell the days of the week.
Listen to the story of Beegu.
This week we are going to send Beegu a picture postcard from ‘the small ones’ after she returns home. She wants to know what we do on different days of the week.
Here are the days of the week, remember they need a capital letter.
- Monday
- Tuesday
- Wednesday
- Thursday
- Friday
- Saturday
- Sunday
Here are my examples.
On Monday I have PE and I also go to library.
On Tuesdays I have kickboxing and I also have Spanish.
Thursday 24th June
To re-read what I have written to check it makes sense and discuss what I have written with my teachers and peers.
Look at the sentences below. Then follow the instructions on the sheets to edit and up skill the sentences.
Now write a message to Beegu all about what you do on a Monday. Then reread your work and check it makes sense like you did on the previous task. Can you make any amendments?
Friday 25th June
To sequence sentences to form short narratives.
Today we are going to write a postcard to Beegu. Your first job is to draw a picture of something familiar to you. This could be Woodside or your house.
Now write your postcard.
Here is an example...
Dear Beegu,
I am writing to you from Bradford to tell you all about what we do at Woodside Academy. On Mondays I enjoy reading books in the library and going to PE with my teacher. On Tuesdays we have different lessons. I have kickboxing with Mr McNaulty and Spanish with Miss Priestly.
From
Miss Douglas
