Lockdown Poetry
This week we will be looking at writing our own Lockdown Haiku poem. A Haiku poem is a poem that is made up of only 3 short lines. The first line has 5 syllables , the second has 7 syllables and the third has 5 syllables.

How many Syllables?
Count how many syllables are in each of the words below. Clap the syllables if it helps.

Writing Your Own Haiku

- What you miss about school

Haiku poems are very short so you could write as many different poems as you want. Just remember to use the 5 - 7 - 5 rule!
Once you've done writing your poem, draw some pictures to illustrate your Haiku.
Perform
After you have written your poem and drawn some lovely pictures, it would a fantastic idea if you could perform your poem to your family members. Record your performance and send it our way so your teachers can see the amazing work you have done!
