What is a relative clause?

Using what you have found out from the video, create a poster to show what a relative clause is. Don't forget to include details of relative pronouns.

Use the Powerpoint and watch the video to learn about semi-colons.

The Semicolon and Colon Song

Task 1

Copy and complete each sentence into your book and add the semi-colon.

 

Task 2

Write out each sentence by joining two parts together with a semi-colon.

Task 3

Now have a go at writing your own sentences using a semi-colon about Pompeii and the eruption of Vesuvius.

Your task today is to have a go at writing a setting description using all the skills you have been learning - semi-colons and relative clauses.

 

Task 1

Read through the WAGOLL and write a list of all the relative clauses and outstanding vocabulary that you could use in your description. 

Task 3 

Using the WAGOLL to help you, have a go at writing your own setting description.

* Expanded noun phrases

Task 1

Ask an adult or test yourself on the spellings you have been working on since last Thursday.
