SEND

Woodside is a fully inclusive school with excellent support for all children, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities. We are committed to promoting positive mental health and wellbeing throughout school and our learning mentor is a trained mental health first aider.

We work closely with outside agencies including the Educational Psychologist, Speech and Language, Behavioural Support, Children's Social Care, The Virtual School, and are an Attachment Aware and Mental Health Champion school.

Ofsted recognised that "teachers provide just the right amount of support to meet the needs of pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities" and "Pupils with SEND have effective support to be successful".

Please contact the school office if you would like a printed version of our policies. If you have any concerns about your child, please speak to their class teacher in the first instance, and they will then liaise with the SENDCo or Leadership Team.

Our SENDCo is Mrs Thompson. If you would like to speak to Mrs Thompson, please contact her via 01274 414350 or send an email to admin@woodsideacademy.co.uk

All schools are required to write a 'Local Offer' detailing the provision which is in place for children who have Special Educational Needs or who have a disability. If you would like to find out more information on Bradford's Local Offer, please click here.
