Welcome from the Headteacher
I am extremely proud to welcome you to Woodside Academy.
At Woodside you will find children who are happy, settled and who love to learn. We provide fun, engaging learning experiences and help children to develop a curiosity for learning in a safe and welcoming environment.
In our recent Ofsted report (October 2024), there were so many positives highlighted and we were incredibly proud, including:
· Warm relationships between staff and pupils reflect the school’s values of respect, high expectations and resilience.
· There is a shared aim that all pupils, including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND), will be well prepared for their next steps in education.
·High expectations are in place for all pupils. The school has revised the curriculum in English, including reading, and mathematics. As a result, pupils currently in school are achieving well.
·The school’s early years curriculum has been constructed to ensure early reading, writing, speaking and number skills are high priority.
· Pupils behave well in lessons and around school. Pupils who need extra help and guidance with their behaviour, including those with SEND, get the help they require. Staff support these pupils to make the right choices.
We believe that working in partnership is a key to success and have good relationships with our supportive families and wider community. We work together to ensure that our children are happy, confident and resilient learners who are prepared for their future. Providing life changing education for all of our children and families is at the heart of everything that we do.
At Woodside Academy we believe that attendance is extremely important. It is essential that children attend school every day and arrive at school on time to ensure that no learning is missed.
Our committed, supportive and welcoming staff ensure that all children enjoy their time at primary school whilst helping them to reach their full potential. We are a team - respecting and supporting one another to drive the school forwards.
We are also proud to be part of the Leading Learners Academy Trust, where we work collaboratively to ensure that our children can succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
