  • RED NOSE DAY 2026

    2026 - Do something funny for money! The children had a great day - wearing something red (or none-uniform), telling jokes and raising money for charity. Thank you all for joining in and helping raise funds for such great causes! 

  • World Book Day 2026

    The children had a lovely World Book Day and enjoyed looking at all the wonderful outfits in the World Book Day Parade! The whole school had a full focus on reading and spent the whole day listening to different books and doing different reading activities.

  • Santa Visit

    Today the children enjoyed a visit from a very special visitor - Santa was kind enough to take time out of his very busy December schedule to visit all classrooms!

  • Year 2 Hindu Temple Visit

    Year 2 visited the Hindu Temple this week. We had a lovely time learning all about the temple and why people visit it. We saw statues of the Gods and the gifts people bring during times of worship. We looked at different symbols of Hunduism as well as a Hindu Wedding! We had lots of fun.

  • Year 6 - Chester Zoo

    Year 6 had a brilliant time at Chester Zoo. We were so impressed with their behaviour.

  • Wyke Remembrance Service at Memorial Stone

    Today we attended the Remembrance Service in Wyke run by the Royal British Legion. Two of our children laid a Poppy wreath at the Memorial Stone on behalf of Woodside Academy.

  • Year 5 Mole - Rokt

    Year 5 Mole had an amazing time yesterday at the Financial Literacy Workshop. They engaged in rock climbing, escape rooms and workshops based on managing money. This gave them opportunities to practice their budgeting, social and problem-solving skills!

  • Visit from Westbourne Primary School

    Year 3 had a wonderful time on Wednesday as we welcomed children from Westbourne Primary to our school. We made new friends, played games, showed off our kickboxing skills but most importantly had lots of fun! It was lovely to get feedback from adults at Westbourne about how respectful and well behaved all children from Woodside Academy were. A real credit to our school!
