Wyke Remembrance Service at Memorial Stone
Fri 07 Nov 2025Today we attended the Remembrance Service in Wyke run by the Royal British Legion. Two of our children laid a Poppy wreath at the Memorial Stone on behalf of Woodside Academy.

Year 5 Mole - Rokt
Tue 21 Oct 2025Year 5 Mole had an amazing time yesterday at the Financial Literacy Workshop. They engaged in rock climbing, escape rooms and workshops based on managing money. This gave them opportunities to practice their budgeting, social and problem-solving skills!

Visit from Westbourne Primary School
Wed 04 Jun 2025Year 3 had a wonderful time on Wednesday as we welcomed children from Westbourne Primary to our school. We made new friends, played games, showed off our kickboxing skills but most importantly had lots of fun! It was lovely to get feedback from adults at Westbourne about how respectful and well behaved all children from Woodside Academy were. A real credit to our school!

YOGA PRACTICE!
Thu 15 May 2025Some of our children have been learning Yoga with Charlotte from SCIL Team. They are being taught how Yoga can help them to feel calm and collected through the power of stretching and breathing (and also having fun!). Today's session had an 'under the sea' theme. Namaste!

CANAL & RIVER TRUST VISIT
Wed 30 Apr 2025Key stage 1 and Key stage 2 children enjoyed a visit from the Canal & River Trust who provided safety workshops to teach the children about the dangers around water and how to stay safe.

Red Nose Day
Fri 21 Mar 2025Children wore something red or non-uniform to raise money for Comic Relief. Thank you to everyone for your donations and for taking part!

PE Competition at Worth Valley Primary School
Wed 22 Jan 2025A group of children from Woodside took part in a PE Competition at Worth Valley Primary School. The children had a great morning playing games and working as a team to complete a range of physical and strategic activities! By the end of the morning, the children from Woodside had accumulated the most points and finished in 1st Place!

Tree Planting
Mon 20 Jan 2025Year 2 have participated in tree planting on the school field. It was hard work with the ground being hard from the cold weather but we persevered! It was also quite muddy but we enjoyed the fresh air. Great job year 2 - planting trees is so important for our environment!
