  • World of Work Day

    As part of our KS2 World of Work Day, Kingfisher Class have started the day with a special visit from Northern Gas!

  • PE Competition at Worth Valley Primary School

    A group of children from Woodside took part in a PE Competition at Worth Valley Primary School. The children had a great morning playing games and working as a team to complete a range of physical and strategic activities! By the end of the morning, the children from Woodside had accumulated the most points and finished in 1st Place!

  • Tree Planting

    Year 2 have participated in tree planting on the school field. It was hard work with the ground being hard from the cold weather but we persevered! It was also quite muddy but we enjoyed the fresh air. Great job year 2 - planting trees is so important for our environment! 

  • Parent/Carer Open Morning December 2024

    Thank you to everyone who came to our last open morning of 2024!!

     

    The children always love spending time with you at school. It was very festive today with all the creative Christmas crafts being made and it was especially wonderful to be able to celebrate our Ofsted 'good' grading with you with biscuits and drinks!

  • Getting Musically Creative

    We have been getting musically creative this week!

    The children have been playing different instruments, creating a sequence of beats that their friends could dance to using scarves to swirl and twirl. 

    We also created an art piece using crayons whilst listening to different kinds of music. We thought about how we moved the crayon on the paper. It has been wonderful to see the children working together in a fun engaging way.

  • Remembrance Day visit to Wyke Cenotaph

    Today, two of our pupils visited the Cenotaph in Wyke to lay a Poppy Wreath on behalf of Woodside Academy.

  • Year 4 SCARF Workshop

    In the Year 4 SCARF Workshop, the children got to take a peek inside the human body and learnt about the different systems in our body. They also learnt about mental health and how to keep a healthy mind. They even got to take a ride on a virtual theme park ride with Gerald the Giraffe!

  • Nursery - Walk to Judy Woods

    Ladybird class enjoyed a walk to Judy Woods. We collected a range of autumnal objects, listened to one of our favourite stories and re-enacted the 'Going on a Bear Hunt Story'. We all had an amazing day and the children's behaviour was impeccable! Well done Ladybirds!

  • Year 4 - Big Sing

    Year 4 have had a fantastic time at the Big Sing at St. George's Hall. We learnt where jazz, blues and other music genres come from. The children loved joining in with the singing and the actions.

  • Year 3 trip to Malham
